Good days
The Panchangam heatmap shows a whole month in one view, colouring each day by how favourable it is for you. It combines the five limbs of the day with your own Tarabalam and Chandrabalam, so you can spot good days for a start, a journey or a purchase without reading each day separately.
Each day is scored from the Tithi, Vara, Nakshatra, Yoga and Karana, then adjusted for your birth star and Moon sign. Deeper shades are better days. Days with Amavasya, Chandrashtama for your sign, or difficult Yogas such as Vyatipata and Vaidhriti are shown lighter.
Tarabalam counts from your birth Nakshatra to the day's Nakshatra and groups the result into nine Taras. Sampat, Kshema, Sadhana, Mitra and Parama Mitra are favourable; Janma, Vipat, Pratyak and Naidhana call for care.
Chandrabalam looks at the Moon's sign that day counted from your Moon sign. The Moon in the 1st, 3rd, 6th, 7th, 10th and 11th is good; the 8th, known as Chandrashtama, is the one most families avoid for starts.
Pick a purpose such as travel, buying a vehicle, starting study or a house warming. The heatmap then applies the Nakshatras and Tithis suited to that purpose. For weddings and Griha Pravesam, follow up with the Muhurtham finder for the exact Lagna.
Tap any day to see its full Panchangam: sunrise, the five limbs with end times, Rahu Kalam, Yamagandam, Kuligai and the good hours of the day.
Tradition sets aside certain days for new starts. Amavasya and the day of Chandrashtama are the most widely avoided. The Tithis Chaturthi, Navami and Chaturdashi, called Rikta, are considered empty for beginnings. Yogas such as Vyatipata and Vaidhriti, and Karanas such as Vishti, also called Bhadra, are kept clear of important work. The heatmap weighs all of these, so the deepest shades fall on days that pass every common test for your star.
For a family event, add the birth details of the main people involved. The heatmap then shows the days that suit all of them together, which saves going through the calendar day by day for each person.
