Planets in the Twelve Houses
What each planet does in each house of the birth chart: themes, strengths, the houses it aspects, and practical notes.
Houses are counted from the Ascendant
The twelve houses (Bhavas) are counted from the rising sign at birth. Each house governs a set of life areas, from self and wealth in the first two to loss, rest and liberation in the twelfth. A planet in a house brings its own nature to those areas and also aspects other houses: every planet casts a full aspect on the seventh house from itself, and Mars, Jupiter and Saturn have special aspects as well.

The sign the planet occupies, its dignity, the lord of the house and the Dasha you are running all modify the result. A strong, well-aspected planet in a difficult house can still give good results, and a weak planet in a good house can struggle.
