What is this?
The sixteen zones are equal 22.5° slices around the centre of a plot, named by direction from north. Each carries one of the five elements.
How Vastu Shastra reads it
The sources credit the sixteen-zone division to Vishwakarma Prakash. Water sits in the north, fire in the south-east to south, earth in the north-east, north-west and south-west, air in the east, and space in the west. The room lists come from published evaluation reports and facing guides. Some placements are written as statements; others are read from a labelled drawing, and the full report marks those.
Questions
›Where is the centre of my plot?
The planner uses the centre of the outer boundary you draw. Rooms close to the centre count as the Brahmasthan.
›Why do some zones list nothing?
The sources do not place every room in every zone. Where they are silent, we show nothing rather than guess.
›Does facing change the reading?
Yes, in places. The facing guides add their own placements; when your plan has a facing set, those take priority.
